Bayan-Ölgii Province or Bayan-Ölgii Aimag is the westermost Province of The Republic of Mongolia. It borders on the Republic of Kazakhstan in the North-West, the Altai Krai and the Tuva Republic of the Russian Federation in the North and the Xinjiang-Uyghur Autonomous Region of the Peoples Republic of China in the South-West. Neighboring Provinces (Aimags) and Nations are in clockwise direction - Uvs Province in the North-East, and Khovd (Hovd) Aimag in the South-East. Much of the Province is made up by the Altai Mountain Range.
