Zavkhan Province (Dzavhan) or Zhavkhan Aimag is a Province of North-Western Mongolia. It borders on the Russian Federation which lies to the North. Neighboring Provinces and nations are in clockwise direction - Uvs Province of Mongolia in the West, the Russian Federation in the North, Khovsgol Province to the North-East, Arkhangai Province to the East, Bayankhonghor Province to the South-East, Govi-Altay province to the South, and finally Khovd Province to the South-West.

The Main Rivers of Zavkhan Provinceare the large Baydrag River, of which the Aldarkhaan River, the Uliastai River and Tsagaankhairkhan River are major tributaries.
The Baydrag River flows along the border with Govi Altay Aimag (Province) and empties into the Dorgon Lake just across the border of Khovd Aimag (Province) to the West.
