Fujian Province is situated on the South-Eastern coast of China. Bordering Provinces are clockwise around; Jiangxi Province in the West, Zhejiang Province in the North, Taiwan Island - The Republic of China off the Coast across the Taiwan Straits of the South China Sea in the East, and finally Guangdong Province with Shenzen, Hong Kong and Macau to the South.
The province is mountainous and only the area along the coast is occupied by plains. Mountainous areas and hilly lands make up 80% of its total area.
The province is rich in tourist resources and famous for its picturesque sceneries. It possesses more than 40 famous scenic spots and over 40 major historic and cultural sites under state protection. Fujian enjoys a subtropic climate , characterized by hot summer but cool winter. The annual mean temperature is 17-22°C , and the annual rainfall is 1100-2000mm. It has a frost-free Period of 240-300days in a year.

Lakes: Gutian Shuiku near the Town of Gutian, Ansha Shuiku some ways west of Yang'An Town. Both of these are natural water reservoirs created by the damming of rivers. Jin Hu, a natural lake.
