Great Wall of China in Beijing is the Badaling Pass. In between lie, forming a rough circle that arches around Beijing, no less than 33 counted sections of this unique historic landmark, many of which can be explored on foot with relative convenience. Please make use of this map to locate them and find more relevant information.
Although this can barely be educed from the below map, in reality, the Great Wall of China around Beijing city counts several layers, which furthermore were interconnected at some points. Many of these Walls have since been ruined or have partially collapsed. For reasons of practicality, only the remaining sections and passes of the Outer Layer of the Great Wall of China have been marked on this Map. Where possible, additional details and sections of the Inner Layer of the Wall have been added for reference.
All depicted parts of the Great Wall in this area were (mainly) constructed during the reign of the Ming Dynasty (1368 AD - 1644 AD). The entire length of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall (multiple-layers) has been estimated to be around 8000 miles. Contrary to Popular Legend, The Great Wall cannot be seen from space with the naked eye.
