On the Hilltop , between the New Appartment Buildings , on the old approach to Kai Tak the Kowloon Walled City Park was built.

The Park , one of many in Kowloon , was built to for the enjoyment of the people and to enhance the Health & Leasure of the ordinary Hong Kong citizen.
The Kowloon Walled City Park is located on the former approach to Hong Kong's Famous Kai Tak Airport , on the spot where the Hong Kong slums or Hutong were once located.
Entrance to The Kowloon Walled City Park. After the opening of the New Airport at Lantau Island , and the closure of Kai Tak International , the area suddenly became more  liveable. Also: the old building regulations that forbid any building above 5 stories to keep the approach to Kai Tak International Airport open were abolished.
Soon new building would be arrising and the bustling Hutong or slums were no more.

On the Right and in The Background. One of Hong Kong's so called Walled Cities. These Walled Cities are the Houses of Clans of Original Citizens of Hong Kong.
A View of some of the left-over Earlier buildings that comply with the 5 story building codes. From over this Hilltop the Boeing 747's and other Airliners would dive downhill and land at the Sea- and Port-side Kai Tak Airport. From your seat-window you would look into people's living rooms while landing !!

The Last remaining remnants of the Old Walled City this Park has been named after.
A Hong Kong traditional Walled City would be the Housing of a original Hong Kong Family. As first settlers they still have special rights applying to them for housing , schooling , taxes , marital law , etc within the Territory of Hong Kong.
The inhabitants of the Walled City would all belong to the same family or clan and thus carry the same Name. The Inhabitants of a traditional Walled City , if boys , are considered extremely Lucky , Rich & Well to do.

Once one would cram through the small alley's of the Hutong under a frequent deafening noise off landing Airliners on final approach. Nowadays ... One can enjoy a quite stroll downhill. And wonder about it all..
