Admire the Gate, follow some of the Moat and climb atop the Gate and it wall platforms to overlook the old district of the now sprawling city of Luoyang.
Main Street - Old City
Inside the West Gate (Xi Guan) lies what was once all of the City of Luoyang. Hidden inside the impressive (renovated) Ming Dynasty Era city walls lies the historic main commercial thoroughfare of the historic town. Go there to have a stroll.
Although thoroughly renovated in the Chinese style, it is the most scenic street in Luoyang today and thus should be worthwhile your visit. Except for a multitude of shops selling tourist trinklets, there is the option of climbing up inside the Gate and a look down from the Walls.
