Most notable feature on this map is the Yellow River (Huang He), which after shaping the border between Shaanxi- and Shanxi Provinces turns eastward flow from west to east through the northern parts of Henan Province, before entering neighboring Shandong Province on its way to the Bohai Bay of the Yellow Sea.
